When I was 12, I saw Jurassic Park for the first time. I loved it. The Dinosaurs, the story (ok, ok, so the science was whack and I knew it at 12, but still...) the raptors and the T-Rex, it was just all so amazing to me. I even liked the second and third movies. Honestly, everyone hated Jurassic Park III, but it was probably my favorite for a long time.

{Me on my porch wearing my outfit of the day, sideways pose to show off the legging cutouts.}
OOTD: Jurassic World Shirt from Torrid, leggings from Lane Bryant with cutout meshed sections in the lower legs, Ruby Red Tieks, and tassel earrings from Amazon.
My love of Dinosaurs has since morphed into my daughter's love for them when she discovered the movies. When Jurassic World came out? We went and saw it together in the theater (Same with JWII) I was thrilled that we both loved them! It's something we bond over for sure. My husband thinks the movies (and we) are ridiculous, but he "tolerates" it. (Aka, he thinks we're adorable, but he's not a fan of the movies. lol)
Chloe runs around the house and makes little raptor screeching sounds. It's hilarious - even now at 14. She wore an inflatable T-Rex costume for Halloween last year, but not to be like every other inflatable dinosaur, she added a tutu to it, and it was awesome.

See? I told you it was awesome.
So my love of Dinosaurs continued, and when I saw this shirt on Torrid, I knew I had to have it. I waited until they had graphic tee's on BOGO and snagged it up!

I also happen to seriously love anything tiny, and they make miniature collectable dinosaurs, so I have a few. We have Blue and the Carnotaurus. . .
{Me holding my miniature Carno, looking fake scared}
My Carno even has his own Instagram. lol. We use it whenever we travel. He comes along and has adventures. (Side note, he was lost for over a year, so he hasn't been updated since last August. I just found him in the basement. I think he was having epic adventures in the Pockets of Jeans in Laundry Land.)
When I was younger and in a bad relationship, all of my love for things disappeared. It went away because every time I expressed my love for something, I got made fun of for it. I started keeping my opinions to myself, and hiding what I wanted to say so I wouldn't be belittled for liking what I liked. When I left that relationship, I realized that he had taken away a part of who I am. My love for what I like is just fine, and no one should have made me feel otherwise.
I teach my daughter to express herself and love whatever she wants to love. I teach her that it's absolutely ok to do that, and that you're never too old to love miniature dinosaurs. Or anything else. Age is just a number, and I will never grow old.
So basically, moral of the story here is love what you love. If you love something, fangirl the shit out of it, and love it. Love it with all your heart and don't let anyone take that fun away from you. Life is too short to be boring.
Now, time for the blooper reel:

{Me holding my miniature Carno, looking fake scared, but looking more like I'm in pain than anything else.}

{Me, bending over and putting my hands up with a grimace on my face to rawr at the camera like a dinosaur.}

{Me bending over so you can get a closer look at my shirt and failing, cuz I'm fat and my fat rolled the shirt up. LOL!}
