Old Navy Top, LLR Maxi Skirt, Mustard Tieks. Threw this one together because it was laundry day. Woot. Glad it worked together! haha.

Tuesday, October 8, 2019
Just ripped this off my FB share in the tieks group, because it's basically how I feel today and I have to go curl Chloe's hair right freaking now, or she might DIE. lol.
Hope you are all well! (And yes, the drop me a note still applies here too!)

And it's Tuesday. Yesterday I got a bunch of new LLR. I splurged. I felt like shopping, and I was like, new tieks or new clothes....ehhh, I need clothes more. (Sorry to disappoint, but there were some wardrobe gaps that needed filling and while it seems like I have endless clothing, I really don't. A lot of things I wear are mix and match and I wear out pants ridiculously fast.) Also, I needed Halloween clothing because in a bought of INSANITY last year I Marie Kondo'd all my Halloween clothes. Like, HELLO Beka, they ALL brought you joy, what were you DOING? Oh, being rational, (<insert my mother's voice here> You only wear them once a year Beka!) that's right. Eff that. Being rational has lead to some of the worst decisions I've ever made. Seriously. Go with your heart, not your head.
So anyway, today's OOTD is all new! I got this gorgeous mustard/wheat colored Emily (with snack holes!). I wasn't sure how the Emily would fit and I'm really glad I took a chance on it! I was waiting for one to call my name loudly and this one did, so I bought it. I paired it with these adorable halloween vintage print leggings and Mustard Tieks. And yes, cat ears. Because they came with the Emily cuz my girl that hooked me up and I got to talking about kitties, and she's bomb and gave me the ears. It's like she knew I'd wear them or something?!?! (I got them and was like, "These. On my head. RIGHT MEOW." hahaha.
Anyway, I will say, I would wear this dress without leggings for sure, but it's kinda chilly today (yes!) so I did leggings. And as I can never pull off the knotted up on the side look without it looking really dumb, it is what it is. This would also look really cute with little shoe booties, and if my daughter and I were the same size shoes, I'd steal hers. haha. /insert sarcasm here: Oh well...Gee darn, gotta wear my tieks. Oh no, whatever shall I do? /end sarcasm
How are you doing today? I want to know! Drop me a note and tell me how you are. I hope you're doing good, but if you aren't, here's some ****hugs****.

Day 43
I hear the cicadas outside and it reminds me of summers as a kiddo and being all hot and sticky all the time. I feel bad that I can't give that to my teenagers, but at the same time, they had it when they were really little. It's weird how sounds and scents can bring back memories, both good and bad ones.
I don't think Chloe and I are doing anything this weekend. I have to order Mr. Snoot some more reptile supplies for his bigger cage, as he really needs a bigger water dish and a bigger hide. I'm going to order through chewy.com because I have heard they are the bomb. So we'll see.
I honestly just threw on some clothes today. I didn't even think about this outfit other than, "Am I presentable?" I say yes. I'm a little matchy-matchy, but that's ok. Yellow Luluroe Nikki dress, multi-color earrings from Amrita Singh and mustard Tieks. Oh and the hair tie came in a multi-color pack from Amazon.
Lularoe Nikki's are generally shorter than skirts I usually wear, and are about the shortest I'll go on a skirt for a couple of reasons. 1) I'm not the most lady like, and have a tendency to bend over in dresses as though I were wearing pants. 2) You can see the scars on my knees. Not much in these pictures, but you can close up. In these, you can only see the 1 scar that you can generally see in all my dress pictures as it's pretty big. (The one halfway below my knee/up my calf if you don't know what I'm talking about.) When I take pictures of my shoes, you can see the ones on my ankles and the one on my shin as well. (Those have healed enough, they kind of look like bruises unless you are looking really close up.) We're not perfect and our scars and imperfections are what makes us unique and tell our story. We have to learn to love who we are and not try to be perfect. That being said, I am comfortable with ALL of them now, so I am ok to show off a little more leg. Woo-Woo. lol.
One thing I would correct if I could? My allergies. They are on overdrive. I can't stop sneezing so my nose and cheeks are super red and my eyes are all watery. lol. From now until November is the WORST time of year for me and I feel like I'm going to die about every year. I really have to schedule that allergist appointment.
POCKETS! Yus.....pockets are precious!
Pineapple earrings! I love these. :D
I never thought I'd like Mustards as much as I do. Nor did I think I had a ton to go with them. (I'm laughing because I bought a TON of yellow to go with them and I am SO GLAD I did because I am in love with yellow on me. :D <3
And Oh!!
Look who was on my screen door when I went to go back inside! A real ladybug! A red one! I haven't seen a real red one in such a long time. Usually we get the orange ones, or the orangey-red ones that have mated with the real lady bugs and have the crossbreeding thing going on, but this one was red red. I was so happy. :D
I hope you all have a wonderful day!!

Day 35
So I cannot get mustards off of my mind. I just LOVE them. What's funny, is I didn't like the first pair I got, and the second pair I was still very meh about. It goes to show that fit really matters. I didn't love them until I got a pair that fit right. Once I got the fit right, I was like, YES. These have to be in my life. I have a bunch of other tieks to wear, but I keep gravitating towards these ones.
I mean, really. Just look at them! They're such happy shoes! How can you not like them? #TeamMustard
So today, I wore another yellow shirt, because it's supposed to be warm again with high humidity, it's sleeveless. Jeans again; same pair - YES - I did wear them two days in a row. Denim isn't meant to be worn and washed every time. Look it up! (I'm not stinky, they're not dirty, absolutely fine to wear again. I changed my undies, it's NBD.) (shirt and denim from Torrid)
I also could have worn wild copper or even the tortoiseshell Tieks with this. Honestly, a lot goes with this as it's a very simple outfit. You can really put in any complimentary color with it. Navy, black, chocolate, biscotti, camel, chestnut, and mojave would even work. The nice thing when you color block it generally works really well with any other (complimentary) color for shoes.
Jewelry is simple today. These adorable earrings that I got in a LLR order from Amy. I have no idea where she gets them from, but I LOVE THEM. These ones in particular are glorious. I need to get starstrucks to go with them. LOL!
In other life news, Chloe's wart is dying (YAY!) and we will probably only have to go back for one more injection. She also made a cake for the first time completely 100% on her own from start to finish from scratch. *Proud* (Things I couldn't do at 14 - make a cake. She's got one up on me. lol)
I have to mail out Toby's birthday presents so that he gets them on time, but I'm still waiting for two of them to come from Amazon. I cannot believe my son is turning 16 in just 17 more days. It feels like yesterday he was just a little bean crying in his crib smelling like that new baby smell. *sigh*
The crochet blanket I'm working on (I'm dubbing it project fall blanket) is going well. First set of hexagons is being blocked now, while I'm working on the second set. I'm re-watching Firefly while I work on them, but I'll be finding something on Netflix likely today or tomorrow to binge watch. I got a lot of suggestions, so hopefully I can find something else to get into.
I may need to go to the store today. I also need to send in my NOI to the school district so that we can be "approved" to homeschool another year. In Ohio, all you have to do is have the paperwork, but for some reason schools seem to think they have to approve it. It's stupid. Fortunately, we've yet to encounter a problem with our school district. *knock on wood* And I have to return the CN tieks that didn't fit right today as well. Returning the ones with the weird L mark, as the other pair fits almost exactly the same, but has no marks on them.
I think that's about it!
Extra pics that weren't "featured". lol.
You know, seeing only this portion of my neighborhood, it looks like a really great neighborhood. Also, my yard (nor my neighbors) look like the hot mess that they are with all the overgrown plants. You can sort of see the ivy attacking everything but not really. Pictures sure can be deceiving, can't they? My yard is a hot mess of weeds, my neighborhood houses are a mix between completely run down and decently maintained, yards are generally all weeds and grass, no one takes care of their yards beyond mowing around here. However, you'd never be able to tell any of that by this picture. How funny.
